01/04/98 This is another one of the Greatcoat outfitted officer guys (-yawn-), also unfinished . I went through more trouble with the tailoring (sleeves with two seams, darts, and slit flap in back), but he is just another guy wearing a gray Greatcoat. When you're making these things, they look kinda like night gowns. The fun thing about this project was making the Broomstick Mauser's holster. This is supposed to be a wooden gadget that doubles as the machinepistol's stock. I didn't take it that far! I was content to make a hinged rigid holster. This sucker is made of styrene, with the fake hinge being a piece of vinyl detailed to simulate a hinge. The little pouch on the exterior does open to store spare dust...

01/04/98- This is a Russian-style pouch that contains a spare drum magazine for the machinegun that the guy is holding. Sorry, that's a lie... it actually contains a Pfaff bobbin that has been surgically altered to resemble the dimensions of the PPSh drum--not much good in a combat situation. This was a real SOB to sew, since there's hardly any space to work in, considering you've gotta make two sets of curved seams. Of course, gluing the parts before sewing really helps... Note the nifty little fastener: I got bored with making buckled straps, so opted for this more primitive & "retro" look.
